Martin Barry is a Fulbright Scholar, teaching at CVUT and a Project Leader at W Architecture and Landscape Architecture in NYC where he is leading multi-disciplinary teams on complex landscape projects all over the globe. His specialization is the enhancement and revitalization of urban waterfronts, and he has shown versatility collaborating on urban parks, plazas and universities in New York City, Saudi Arabia, China, United Arab Emirates, Haiti and Mexico. With a diverse background in history, business, construction and landscape architecture he is uniquely positioned to understand and manage the disparate forces on these complex projects, while being adept at negotiating distinct perspectives.
Martin is a young leader in his field, having worked on a variety of complex projects with international, multi-disciplinary teams. Central to this designer’s vision is his eagerness to maintain, respect and reveal local environments and cultures with an underlying theme of sustainable urbanity.
Martin perceives landscape architecture as a meaningful way to shape the future and reestablish the way individuals interact with ecology and culture in urban public spaces. He aims to inform the way we design and in turn use urban landscapes; to engage, energize, catalyze and to learn.
